Videos from ContiSafetyExperience - car2X communication

A few features that any decent radar detector can provide (wink wink) but the one we most like is the driving advice on safely beating the red lights the darn car advises on what speed to safely drive at to avoid facing a red light. Any one who had a zillion light on way to work will definitely appreciate this. Here is the video.

2003 Porsche 911 Turbo STK 167-ATL.mpg

The 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo continues a performance legend begun when the first 911 Turbo was introduced to North America in 1976. With a 415-horsepower (SAE) twin-turbocharged engine and advanced all-wheel drive, the latest 911 Turbo (model 996) takes its place in the top echelon of the supercar category. Derived from the Porsche GT1 racecar, the 3.6-liter, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine sustains 415 lb.-ft. of peak torque from 2700-4600 rpm. In place of a conventional throttle cable setup, the E-Gas electronic throttle transmits pedal position to the engine control unit. Power drives through a standard six-speed manual transmission. The 911 Turbo can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in just 4.2 seconds. On the test track, the 911 Turbo can sprint from a standstill to 100 mph (160 kph) in only 9.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 189 mph (305 km/h). This beautiful example is exceptionally clean with only 38129 original miles and a 100% clean CarFax/Autocheck history. The car comes documented with all original owner's manuals and we also have the orginal selling dealer invoices which is nice and is something neat that can stay with this car. Only having been driven by two mature owners, both of them in their 60's, has helped this car stay looking so great over the past 8 years. We also like this only being a two-owner car because many exotics get beat on when they have multiple owners in a short period of time but not this 911! Both owner's report this car ...

Laser In The Burbs - RFID Laser Lidar Ladar Radar Network

After finding an abnormally high level of X band in my driveway. I put the radar/laser detector in my house to see what I may be getting inside. The X band went off constantly in my house. I put the "Zapped by X band" Video on Youtube and stated that it mostly was detected in my house. After putting this video out -- and having an attorney send documents to the neighbors asking if they were responsible for my receiving radiation at the level of 10.5 Ghz constantly, Laser started to activate -- constantly. Eventually X Band ceased all together and I was left with laser. Laser at home, laser in my car, laser all over the town in my car. No laser in my two trucks and not in other people's cars, either.

Two Valentine One Radar Detectors vs Ka - 3.863 and 3.763

My V1 is on the left (3.863) and my friend's V1 (3.763) is on the right. He had bought it off of Craigslist, and it is completely dead on K band as you can see, but works well on Ka, X, and laser. Definitely needs a tune up to get K working again. Going up against a local LEO shooting Ka band, although he wasn't paying attention to traffic, just looking at his computer.

Cheetah Radar Detector Interface for C100 or GPS mirror

What's the biggest complaint you have about your existing radar detector? No. 1 for most people is false alarms. Radar detectors will always pick up other signals on the same frequency as police radar. Convenience stores, gas stations, mall car parks; it's the automatic doors that are the main culprits. In town, a radar detector can go off so often and be so annoying that you tend to ignore alerts — until those flashing lights fill the rearview mirror. Using a Cheetah Radar Detector Interface (or RDI for short) to wirelessly link your existing radar detector with the Cheetah GPSmirror, or Cheetah C100 speed camera detector, makes using your detector in town a quieter and much less stressful experience, thanks to Cheetah's unique False Alarm Suppression Technology. Essentially, the RDI turns your own radar detector into a radar sensor for your Cheetah GPS detector, so that two products from different manufacturers can work as one complete, integrated system. You get the best of both worlds - a quieter detector whose performance you already know and trust (and dare we say love!) enhanced with voice alerts, false alarm suppression features and class leading GPS alerts for photo enforcement cameras and well known trap sites. Installing the RDI couldn't be easier. Simply plug it into a compatible detector and power it using your existing detector's own power cord. You will no longer hear the voice and tone alerts of your radar detector because the RDI plugs into the headphone ...

Automobile Initiative Anticollision Air Bag Human Collision

ASADB, the pumping protective safety ballonet, is a pumping protective device for the automobiles running on the highway. The millimeter wave radar detector, which is installed in front of automobile can remind the driver, by language, to brake the car automatically or manually before some pumping emergency occurs. The rate would still keep above 50km/h .Furthermore, if the millimeter wave radar detector is 3 meters away from the car, the pumping protective safety ballonet will unfold automatically and change to a puffed rubber ballonet which will work as a strong protective cushion for the side road walkers, bicycler, tricyclers, the passengers on the both cars ,the car itself and other objects in order to make the casualties and the loss of automobiles as well as the objects to the minimum . The ASADB, the pumping protective safety ballonet is low-cost, multi-used and multi-controlled functional: including full-automatical, half-automatical braking delaying and steering wheel manual control. Wireless Motion Detector Types - Ultrasonic, IR, PIR, Continuous Wave Radar and Vibration

There are many uses for a wireless motion detector. Recently, they have become increasingly popular in public restrooms where the toilets, soap dispensers, and faucets are automated. They are also very popular and more useful as security devices which can be connected to bigger security systems. A motion detector can trigger a warning signal, such as an alarm, flashing lights, or a surveillance camera every time it detects movement.

Types of Motion Detectors

You should first be aware of the various types of wireless detectors before purchasing a model. This will help you understand what type of detector is best for your use.

• Ultrasonic Detectors - These motion detectors send out waves of sound frequency that detect the presence of objects. These are older models and have been replaced by more advanced sensors.

• Active Infrared (IR) Detectors - These devices continuously emit radiation, such as light, radar, or ultrasonic waves and senses changes in the environment caused by a passing object. IR detectors are often found in automatic doors used in malls and grocery stores.

• Passive Infrared (PIR) Detectors - Just like IR detectors, PIR devices sense changes in its environment, but they do not emit radiation. Instead, they detect changes in the temperature of objects and people that are within their range of surveillance. They are the ones used mostly for home and office security.

• Continuous Wave Radar (CW) Detectors - Instead of infrared radiation, CW detectors use microwave signals to detect changes in the frequencies in its environments. They are more sensitive than both IR and PIR detectors and are naturally more expensive.

• Vibration Detectors - These devices work according to the principle of piezoelectric effect by French scientists Jacques and Pierre Curie, which basically means that objects generate their own electrical fields.

Combination Type Wireless Motion Detector

The biggest problem people had with motion detectors is the number of false alarms that usually go off because of a passing pet or a curtain blowing in the wind. Manufacturers have made up for this problem by combining active and passive infrared technologies in one model. These dual-technology sensors emit microwave signals that continuously bounce off objects inside the room until they start to form a blueprint of the fixed objects inside the room. When the blueprint of objects changes, such as when motion takes place, the sensor then uses infrared radiation to access the temperature signature of the new objects and determine if a human intruder is present.

My Car (part 1 of 2) - 2001 Toyota Camry Modified

www.RaulFernandezPhotography.com I did all the modifications myself, except the lambo door hinges and the exhaust (welding was required). Here's a four and a half minute video of my car: a 2001 Toyota Camry Modified. I did it while it was fairly dark so you can see the lights better. In this video, you see the Lambo doors, underbody kit, all the lights I have on the car, the carbon fiber hood, the cold air intake (custom K&N + Injen), the exhaust (Flowmaster S40), my DVD head unit, the A-pillar gagues, the Halo's, and the Altezza lights. • Flowmaster S40 exhaust (one of two things I needed help installing) • NGK Iridium plugs • Cross drilled rotors • Ceramic brake pads • Strut bar • Stage 1 clutch (5-speed manual) • Halo headlights • Clear corner lights • Altezza rear lights • High performance tint (20% back, and all four doors, 30% whole front windshield) • Green LED underbody kit (with remote) • CrimeStoppers Alarm system • Phase Linear DVD head unit • A-Pillar gague: oil pressure (still have to figure out how to get this to work) • A-Pillar gague: voltmeter • 2 rear neons with strobes (connected to switches) • Aftermarket foglights • VIS Carbon racing hood • Green LED washer nozzles • Light bars (green LED) behind carbon grill, and in front of main grill • Custom made cold air intake (Injen tubes + K&N cone filter). • Lambo doors (one of two things I needed help installing) • 8000k HID lights (2 for low beams, 2 for high beams) • Radar/laser detector • Dual blade ...

Valentine One Radar Detector - Take Advantage Of Years Of Refinement For A Discount Price

The Valentine One radar detector is a highly capable unit and is a result of decades of research and refinement. Importantly, it is one of the only detectors on the market today that has forward and rear facing antennas.

You may have read some favorable reviews and might be wondering where you can get your hands on this unit for an extremely competitive price. You may also be undecided about this unit and need more convincing.

If this sounds like you, please read on...

Traditional single antenna units rely on the incoming signal from the speed camera hitting the front of the car as this is the way they are facing. However, if the signal is emanating from the side or rear of the vehicle, then you are not going to be protected from those particular radar and speed cameras. You also run the risk of driving along and having a patrol car close in on your position from behind without you even knowing about it. Even if nothing else appealed to you about the Valentine model, then this factor alone should appeal to you.

This unit has an extremely long detection range and has the ability to track multiple threats simultaneously. One often overlooked benefit of the One is that is does not distract you while you are driving. During the day it doesn't bounce bright sunshine back into your eyes or catch the attention of other road users - this is due to its non reflective construction material. At night it is equally as impressive with an easy to read LED display that alerts you to specific threats but is not so bright that it blinds you or draws attention to yourself.

In my opinion, a radar detector has to be good at what it's supposed to do, but it also has to be user friendly and functional. The Valentine One definitely has this perfect mix, but it does come at a price.

5 Things You Must Know Before Buying a Radar Jammer

Today we are driving faster cars; as a result, more and more people are relying on radar jammers to evade police. While the reasons for owning a jammer are obvious, what to look for before buying one may not be.

1- If you are contemplating the purchase of an active radar jammer for your vehicle, you should know that they are illegal and have been banned by the federal government since December of 1977. The FCC has banned the use and the sale of these devices and the consequences for repeatedly and willfully using them can be steep. Per the FCC, you could be fined as much as $11,000 per violation (with a maximum amount of $75,000) and you could be sent to jail.

2- This is a good time to think about the debate of whether a passive jammer for radar detectors actually works or not. While passive and active jammers themselves send signals back to a police radar detector and can jam up the signal that it receives, a passive jammer needs to be very close to accomplish this. For example, a police detector can be upwards of 1,000 feet away from your vehicle and accurately measure how fast you are driving. While your passive radar jammer can scramble that signal, it would need to be about 100 feet away to work. An active jammer does the job better and does not need to be as close as a passive jammer, but is the one what is illegal to own. Keep this in mind when looking for a radar jammer to purchase.

3- It's best to check with your state about if a passive radar jammer is legal where you live. If it is, you may want to check which models and manufacturers are acceptable and which are not.

4- Now, that being said, if you are going to purchase a radar jammer anyway, its best to know where to mount it to obtain the best possible results from it. Mount it where you can see it, without taking your eyes off the road. This will ensure that you are aware of any threat that it may pick up and can react accordingly. The unit also needs to placed where it gets the best "view" of the road and of incoming signals as well. The best place to mount the radar jammer is on the dash above the steering wheel. Placing it here will ensure that you have constant view of the unit and that it has a constant view of the road.

5- Radar Jammers can be purchased through online dealers. Because of the legality issues involved with owning and operating them, they can be expensive. Most models run around $1,500.00 each, this is for an active jammer as opposed to a less expensive, less dependable passive jammer.

Are Radar Detectors Legal to Use in the State You Live In?

Are you considering getting a radar detector? If you are, then you need to take the time to find out if they are legal to have in the state you live in. There are many states in the United States that prohibit the use of radar detectors. No one likes to get a speeding ticket, but if you use a detector illegally then you will find yourself with two tickets.

There are many states that will give you the ticket for speeding, but they will also make you pay a fine for illegally using radar detectors. Police officers all over the United States know that people are using a radar detector to avoid getting pulled over. So, they have started hiding where they can't be easily seen or found by detectors.

You need to take the time to do your research about using a radar detector before you get yourself into even more trouble. You can use radar detectors illegally if you choose to, but that is not a smart thing to do because eventually it will get you into even more trouble.

So, go online and research to find out what states allow the use of radar detectors and what states prohibit them. It is also a good idea for you to contact your local police department to find out information about using a radar detector. They can tell you whether it is illegal, but they can also tell you what the fine is if you are caught using one illegally. Don't get any detector until you have done your homework and thought about whether it is a smart move for you to make.

Sho-Me 320 Radar Detector

Sho-Me 320 Radar DetectorA radar detector is a compact electronic device used to detect and inform the user of any radars located in the coverage zone of the detector that radiate radio waves or laser rays, which the detector is designed to detect. In its essence, such radar detector is a passive receiver that doesn't suppress signals. Sho-Me 320 is a car radar detector operating off of 12 V direct current available through the cigarette lighter. To turn on the radar the user needs to rotate the control switch clockwise. The control switch is also used to adjust the sound volume. Sho-Me 320 produces certain signals, when the use of radars or lasers is detected. The pause between the signals gets smaller as the vehicle approaches the detected radar or laser. This detector also uses light indicators. The red LED goes on when the detector discovers a radar operating in the X-range, the yellow one - in the K range. When the detector discovers a K range radar, the red and the yellow LEDs go on simultaneously. When the S1-S4 LEDs go on and blink in a rolling mode, this means that the detector has discovered a laser signal. Sho-me detector supports 4 operation modes. When the "CITY" mode is activated, the detector's sensitivity to the devices operating in the X-range decreases. Such devices are for example switches of street lamps, alarm systems and automatic doors. If the "CITY" mode is not activated after the detector has been turned on, the default mode is "HIGHWAY". The ...

Escort Passport 8500 X50 (Red and Blue Displays) - A Review

The Passport 8500 X50 Red/Blue Display:

Price: the price tag is $309.95 for the red display making it one of the cheaper models, and very affordable. Strangely, for the blue display the price is $349.95 - I guess it is a matter of supply and demand.

Bands: this product detect all bands of speed enforcement radar both conventional and "instant-on" radars (X, K, Ka, and Ku), and is 50% more sensitive (covers greater range) than its predecessor, the Passport 8500. Furthermore, unlike its predecessors, the Passport 8500 X50 detectors are able to detect Pop radar guns, a relatively new addition to police forces.

Voice Alerts: there are audible and visual band alerts, but these aren't exactly "voice alerts".

False Alerts: Incorporates the AutoSensitivity Mode which reports few false alerts - but does not eliminate those completely.

Features: Includes the SmartCord power adapter which can be used as a secondary control for the device. Uses Digital signal processing (DSP) for superior range. Has a built-In Earphone Jack. Includes the "AutoMute" feature which lowers the volume of an alert after a period of time. Also incorporates EZ-Programming - a feature that allows easy customization of the device. Finally, it is compatible with the Escort Passport ZR3 Laser Shifter for even better protection.

Installation: the Passport 8500 X50 is windshield mounted, thus, has to be attached to the windshield using a suction cup system. This is a bit clunky, but the advantage is that you can take it and use it in other vehicles, motorcycles, etc. In addition, you can purchase an optional visor holder to hide the Passport 8500 X50 on the visor.

GPS Technology: Not available for this product.

Detectable: Sadly, it is.

Database subscription: N/A.

In summary: When taking into consideration all the features the Passport 8500 X50 as well as its price, it is clear that it's one of the best radar detectors you can get for the money, at least the Red display version is. It has lots of features (such as the SmartCord controller). And it's one of the cheapest models (again, the Red display model). Although it does not have some of the other features some of the other models possess, most notably any sophisticated False Alert reduction mechanisms, such as AutoLearn, or a GPS, considering all the above, we believe it provides extremely good value for its price. All in all, the Escort Passport 8500 X50 is highly recommended. Note that its Blue Display Counterpart, while offering the same capabilities, is slightly more expensive, so you should go for this one if you like the 8500 X50 detector series.

Total score: 4.5/5.0 Stars.
